My Top 6 Tips for Staying ON TRACK while Traveling

HELLO Beautiful People!! Fresh off of vacation and with travel still on the brain, I thought it would be a perfect time to share my top tips for staying on track with your health and nutrition while traveling!
So without further ado...My Top 6 Tips for Staying ON TRACK while Traveling
  1. Plan ahead. See if there will be a gym on site, figure out what restaurants you’ll be visiting, know your travel schedule, etc. The more you know in advance, the better you can plan and prepare so you aren’t stuck in a situation with less than desirable options. I knew the resort we went to last week would have a killer gym, BUT I also knew I’d be there with 100’s of other coaches and that the gym may very well be packed, SO we took the iPad and did our workouts on our patio with the ocean and palm trees in view. Honestly, they were the best workouts I’ve had in a LONG time! Primarily due to the view LOL!
  2. Eat some sort of leafy green each day. Our leafy green vegetable friends are filled with essential vitamins and minerals, so making sure you get at least a serving of those in each day while on vacation will help you stay on top of your A Game for exploring.
  3. Pack gym clothes and plan to workout first thing every morning. Your days will be sooo much more enjoyable. I do this even when we aren’t traveling, BUT that’s because I *KNOW* my days go much better if I’m able to get my workout in first thing! What a great thing to check of my to-do list. Sleep in? Check! Workout? Check! Spend the rest of the day at the beach? Double check!
  4. Pack some healthy snacks. No one wants to be the person stuck in the airport munching on friggin Pringles or Candy Bars. I mean…maybe you do, but your tummy may not thank you later. In my personal experience, it’s far easier to stay on track if I throw in a few options for snacks. Yes, even at an all inclusive resort. We typically travel with individual packages of raw nuts, RX Bars, quest bars, etc. And if we aren’t flying and are simply driving, then we ALWAYS pack a cooler with fresh fruit, vegetables, hummus, bottled water, etc. A) It helps us stay on track and FEELing good, and B) HELLO, it saves you a ton of money! #Win
  5. Drink LOTS of water. It helps sooo much to stay hydrated, especially while traveling! Helps reduce travel bloat, constipation, swelling, etc. So many people forget to stay properly hydrated while traveling and end up with a slew of other discomforts as a result. Of course, if you’re traveling internationally, make sure you ask for BOTTLED water!
  6. Indulge a little! Yep, you read that right! You’re on vacation, so for pete’s sake please allow yourself some treats. You wouldn’t go to New Orleans and skip out on the famous Café Du Monde and their beignets would you? You wouldn’t go to Paris and skip out on macaroons, would you? So please, for your sanity (AND your memories) try out a few local treats. It’s completely fine to enjoy those items in moderation, just make sure you’re also getting in some nutrients to fuel your body properly aka so you don’t have a sugar crash but instead have energy to carry on with your adventures LOL!!
Nutrition aside, whenever you're traveling, make sure you let your hair down, relax, seek adventure, learn something new, really truly make lasting memories! Don't spend the entire time fretting about your waistline or trying to document the perfect photo for your Instagram account. Instead focus on being in the moment, being present, and enjoying every single second!

AND....because I haven't updated you guys on our trip, here's a few clips from our trip to the Dominican Republic (compliments of Beachbody, yet again)! We had such a BLAST!!

Of course, Beachbody does it up right and instantly greets you with fresh margaritas as soon as you step off the plane LOL!

AND of course a huge welcome party and luau!

Our favorite spot the entire week was right here. Just camping on the beach!

Mimosas for breakfast anyone?

Legit, this was our beach aka our view every single day. I've traveled all over and this was by far the best beach I've ever seen!

This guy tho...

Playing in the waves! We didn't venture out too far on account of the rip tide warnings LOL!

Paradise. Duh.

And if you're reading this right now...then you should consider booking yourself a trip to Punta Cana like yesterday!

Finally, a beach farewell party, again thanks to Beachbody! Each trip is better than the last! I can't thank each of you enough for supporting our dream! My home business has completely changed our lives, and we're eternally grateful to our team, our clients, and those who believe in what we do! Thank you!! XOXO!
